Two more women CEOs appointed

APIA, SAMOA – 26 JULY 2022: Two more senior women public servants have been appointed by Cabinet to head two government Ministries.
Pativaine Petaia-Tevita, a long serving public servant with the Samoa Tourism Authority is the new Chief Executive Officer approved by Cabinet to lead the Authority for the next three years.
She holds a Master in Business Administration complemented by a Bachelor of Business and a Bachelor of Accounting. She brings 17 years of experience in the managerial level with the Tourism Authority.
Cabinet has also appointed Lefaoalii Unutoa Auelua Fonoti as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology-MCIT.
Lefaoalii was the first Samoan to be appointed as the Regulator following two succeeding overseas based regulators and had been instrumental in moving Samoa to the digital Television platform.
She is an Engineer by profession and holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Electronics) from RMIT University, Melbourne Australia and a Masters of Engineering (Engineering Management) from the University of Southern Queensland, Brisbane Australia.
She has 15 years working experience as a technical/engineer for various sectors including Broadcasting, ICT and Telecommunications Sector.
