UPDATE: Court rules there is a case to answer in defamation claim

APIA, SAMOA – 29 AUGUST: District Court Judge Leota Raymond Schuster ruled this morning that there is a case to answer in the defamation claim filed against Tiumalumatua Maifea Fetu.

He did not elaborate on the reasons but asked both counsels if they were ready to proceed with final submissions this morning.

Defense counsel was ready but not Prosecution who asked for time to prepare their submission.

The case is adjourned to Wednesday this week for final submissions.

The defamation case was filed by the FAST Party Secretary, Vaaaoao Salu Alofipo for comments by the accused in a radio program against the party and the Prime Minister.
