Fuel prices up for March

APIA, SAMOA – 01 MARCH 2023: The price of petrol is up by 22.2 sene a litre pushing the price from $3.03 to $3.26 per litre. The price increases for March were announced by the Acting Minister of Finance, Leota Laki Lamositele Sio last night.

Diesel is up by 3.6 sene and now selling at $3.56 sene a litre and kerosene is up by 9.2 sene for the new price of $3.20 a litre.

The Minister said the international crude and product market continues to be influenced by external political and supply factors.

After significant fall I prices in December, petrol prices increased sharply in January while diesel and kerosene prices have remained relatively stable.

The Minister also said significant reduction in freight rates and a strengthening of the Tala versus the US dollar had a favourable impact on landed costs.
