CCCS Women donate to the National Kidney Foundation

APIA, SAMOA – 19 MAY 2023: The Congregational Christian Church of Samoa Womens Charity Group – Tautua Puapuaga o Tagata (TPT) today made its annual donation to the National Kidney Foundation and general health services in the country.
The annual monetary donation is made around this time every year when the Church members congregate for its annual general assembly at the church headquarters at Malua.
$70,000 tala was presented today by the President Tafao Misipalauni Faatau, Vice President Saiaigaeva Aviti Etuale, Secretary Feula Uta Muaulu and Treasurer Tamara Auatama Esera to the ACEO of the Ministry of Health, Tagaloa Dr. Robert Thomsen in the presence of the CEO of the Samoa Kidney Foundation, Mulipola Lose Hazelman and management staff.
According to TPT, the funds are allocated as:
- $10,000 – services for Samoa National Hospital at Motootua
- $10,000 – services for hospitals in Savaii
- $30,000 – National Kidney Foundation (N.K.F) at Motootua
- $20,000 – National Kidney Foundation (N.K.F) at Tuasivi in Savaii.
Tagaloa expressed the Government’s gratitude to the Tautua Puapuaga o Tagata’s kindness and continued generosity to the Ministry of Health, the Kidney Foundation and the people of Samoa, through their annual monetary donations.
Kidney failure is one of the fastest growing and serious health problem in Samoa mainly caused by unhealthy diet and lifestyle and is affecting the young and productive section of the population.
Tautua Puapuaga o Tagata of the Congregational Christian Church of Samoa is one of the oldest organsations within the church that raises its own funds for charity work through the efforts of its members.
The Congregational Christian Church of Samoa’s Womens organisation and church sub committees had been meeting this week in preparation for the annual general assembly next week.
