APIA, SAMOA – 01 JULY 2023: Despite recent speculations in the media, there are no changes to the Samoa National Provident Fund (SNPF) members’ entitlements and small loans scheme.

SNPF Board Chairman, Panoa Tavita Moala confirmed that there are no changes in the organisation’s lending policies in particular the Entitlement and Small Term loan schemes.

Panoa is a former Chief Executive Officer of the Fund and was recently appointed Chairman of SNPF. The recent media reports said he had proposed changes to the Government specifically with the member’s entitlements and Small Term Loan scheme.

“There was no official press release from the SNPF Board or the office of the Minister of any changes,” Panoa told press conference yesterday.

He also pointed out to the media not to use information that is not official but to seek an audience with Management, the Board or the Minister.

“Was there ever a time you clicked on your portal account and it said the Board has stopped your entitlement or loans?” Panoa asked.

He said the matter is already before Cabinet and is subject to an investigation.
