Apia, Samoa – 12 September 2023: Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mataafa has informed the two new Cabinet Ministers who were sworn-in this morning that their new calling will not be a smooth sailing journey.

The new Cabinet Ministers are Lautimuia Afoa Uelese Vaai for the Ministry of Finance and Laumatiamanu Ringo Purcell for the new Ministry of Sports & Recreation.

She reminded them that the oaths they took are the manifestation of their commitment to God, for He alone is the source of wisdom, vision, revelation, and divine leadership to provide selfless service for the country and the people of Samoa.

We are committed to accomplish what we have set out in the Pathway for the Development of Samoa to empower communities, build resilience, and inspire growth and it starts with us, Cabinet Ministers,” the Prime Minister said.

She reminded the Ministers of their collective responsibility to serve the country and her people well.
