Fire Destroys Pharmacy & Airline Office

Apia, Samoa -13 September 2023: The Maria’s Pharmacy and the Talofa Airways Company offices at Taufusi were badly destroyed by a fire early this morning.

A senior Fire & Emergency Services Authority (FESA) official said it was too early to determine the cause of the fire, but suspicious fall heavily on an alleged live cigarette butt thrown into a pile of rubbish outside the building.

He said the fire was reported by someone early in the morning and by the time they arrived at the scene, the flames had already engulfed the front area of the building that accommodates the pharmacy, the airline office and a health clinic.

The pharmacy and the airline offices were badly damaged and the FESA investigation continues into the cause of the fire.
