Petroleum prices are up for October

Apia, Samoa – 02 October 2023: Motorists are paying more at the petrol pumps as prices continue to climb for October. Petrol is up by 23.3 sene from $3.20 to $3.43 a litre while diesel is up by 39 sene from $3.29 last month to $3.68 sene a litre.

Kerosene users cop the highest increase of 41.2 sene a litre from $2.88 to $3.29 sene a litre.

The Acting Prime Minister and Acting Minister of Finance, Tuala Iosefo Ponifasio said in a statement that the October retail prices reflect the continuing increases in crude and refined product price driven by OPEC+crude oil supply restrictions. Diesel and Kerosene price increases are further impacted by increasing demand for these products from industrial and aviation market segments.
