Manu Samoa Sevens qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympics

Manu Samoa Sevens have qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympics after a tough final against Papua New Guinea 24-0. Most impressive was the teams defence not conceding a point in the Oceania Rugby Olympic qualifiers Ballymore, Brisbane in the weekend.

Manu Samoa sailed past pool  matches with impressive scorelines of 52 – 0 against American Samoa, 50-0 against the Solomon Islands, 36-0 against Tuvalu and 24-0 against Papua New Guinea.

Manu Samoa Sevens coach, Muliagatele Brian Lima, said the Oceania Rugby 7s in Ballymore, Brisbane last weekend as a chance to make amends after narrowly missing Olympic automatic qualification last season.

“Although we were extremely disappointed that we missed out on automatic qualification, we are aware that the Oceania 7s is perhaps our best chance to qualify, with New Zealand, Fiji, and Australia having already qualified,” Lima said.
