Schools closed due to unstable weather

Weekend showers and strong gusty Westerly winds along the west cost road. 

Apia, Samoa – 05 February 2024: Most of the schools in Samoa are closed today as the weather clears up from showers, thunderstorms and strong and gusty Westerly winds that affected the group up to last night.

The unstable weather conditions were brought by an active convergence zone that remains within the vicinity of Samoa.

The Meteorology Division latest forecast still has Heavy Rain Warning in force for all areas in the country and flood warning remains for all major rivers and vulnerable areas. A wind warning also remains for the group.
