Manuma Samoa & NZ Heartland XV Historic Series in Nov 2025
Apia, Samoa – 07 January 2025 – Lakapi Samoa and New Zealand Rugby today announced a landmark rugby series where Manuma Samoa will host the New Zealand Heartland XV in November 2025.
“The highly anticipated tour will celebrate the enduring rugby relationship between Samoa and New Zealand, showcasing talent and passion from both nations,” said a Lakapi Samoa statement.
The tour will feature two matches:
- Mid-Week Match where the New Zealand Heartland XV will take on Samoa’s President’s XV, a team featuring the best of Samoa’s emerging players.

Test where The Heartland XV will face Manuma Samoa, Samoa’s Second National XV rugby team, in what promises to be an exciting clash and the winner will take home the President’s Cup.
Lakapi Samoa Chief Executive Officer, Seumanu Douglas Ngau Chun, said the tour is a testament to the strong rugby bonds between Samoa and New Zealand.
“Hosting the New Zealand Heartland XV provides a unique platform for our players to showcase their talent and engage with our passionate rugby community. It highlights the importance of fostering international connections through the shared love of rugby,” said Seumanu.
“Our aim is to host international teams in Samoa in November, ending the year in style while creating opportunities for growth. This initiative offers our local players an invaluable chance to experience competing against overseas teams, inspiring them to reach new heights and strengthening the future of rugby in Samoa,” he said.
The Heartland XV first visited Samoa in 1993. Both matches will be held at the iconic Apia Park.
