Joseph Parker Community Meeting House on Fire

Samoa – 23 January 2025 – An iconic family and community meeting house on the main road at Faleula village has seriously been destroyed by fire at around 4.00 this morning.

The house once proudly displayed the world renowned boxer Joseph Parker banner who traces his family roots to the family and Faleula village. The fale has since been used for regular bingo games.

Motorists caught images of a lone Police vehicle at the site as the open fale was fiercely on fire after 4.oo this morning and too late for the fire tenders to save the building.

The family chief is the Member of Parliament for Sagaga 1, Loau Keneti Sio and the fale once hosted VIPs such as the former New Zealand Prime Minister Bill English when he was bestowed a chiefly matai title in 2017.
