Customs seizes close to 10kgs of Crystal Meth

Apia, Samoa – 29 January 2025 – The Ministry of Customs & Revenue seized about 10kgs of crystal meth this evening.  The Ministry says the substance has been confirmed with the use of NIK test kits and further tests will be conducted.

The substance was seized following a series of profiling by the Ministry and confirmation through the use of the Container X-ray scanner at the Apia wharf and Joint Customs & Police K9 Unit.

The Ministry says further details will be provided in due course once all documents and processes are completed.

The Ministry also says that the seizure is a success for the Ministry as we celebrate the International Customs Day within this week.
