National Emergency Operations Activated for Disaster Response

Apia, Samoa – 21 February 2025 – The National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) is now activated to coordinate information and emergency response efforts to the community at risk as bad weather conditions continue to affect the country.
The Acting Chairperson, Vainalepa Toiata Apelu – Uili said activating the center will facilitate a swift, organized, and effective response to address the challenges posed by the severe weather, including potential flooding, landslides, and disruption to essential services.
“We urge eve1yone to remain calm and stay informed through official communication channels, including social media, government agencies platforms and the Meteorology Office,” said Vainalepa.
