A new Chief Executive Officer for UTOS

Apia, Samoa – 25 March 2025 – Cabinet has announced the appointment of Malaeulu Aysha Perlina Rimoni as the new Chief Executive Officer for the Unit Trust of Samoa for the next three years.

She takes over from former CEO, Tevaga Viane Tagiilima who did not reapply.

Malaeulu is no stranger to UTOS having served as the Chief Investment Analyst (ACEO level position) for six years and was six months into her third term when she was appointed CEO.

Malaeulu holds a Bachelor of Commerce (with Honours) in Information Science and a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Information Science both from Otago University.

She was selected from four applicants who were interviewed for the position.

The Unit Trust of Samoa (UTOS) primary goal is to provide an affordable and accessible investment vehicle for local and overseas-based Samoans. This is to allow participation, not only in Samoa’s future developments but also in allowing them to access large-scale investment opportunities in privately owned companies.
