Top Samoan scientist leaves SROS

Apia, Samoa – 05 June 2025 – The Scientific Research Organisation of Samoa (SROS) acknowledges that the departure of its top scientist leaves a noticeable gap but celebrate her incredible contributions and extend their deepest gratitude for her years of service.
SROS has bid a heartfelt farewell to a cherished colleague and friend – Dr. Masuisuiolemalietoa Seeseei Molimau-Samasoni, who has officially concluded her tenure with the organisation after nearly 17 years of dedicated service.
SROS acknowledges “Dr. Seeseei’s unwavering commitment to elevating the profile of SROS and contributing to Samoa’s national development through science and research has left a profound and lasting legacy.
“Her leadership in the Biodiscovery and Molecular Research Division played a pivotal role in advancing local scientific capacity, promoting the use of Samoan bio-resources, and strengthening the visibility of Samoan research at both regional and international levels.
“Throughout her years at SROS, Dr. Seeseei was more than just a scientist. She was a driven professional, a passionate mentor to many young researchers, a valued team leader, and a loyal friend to her colleagues. Her intellect, warmth, and humility earned her deep respect across the organisation and beyond.”
