THANK YOU: Maposua Tanya Toailoa Answers Call For Service

Apia, SAMOA – 13 March 2026 – The Office of the Attorney General formally acknowledges and expresses its sincere gratitude to Ms. Tanya Toailoa for answering the Office’s call for assistance during a time of need.

Ms. Toailoa, began her legal career as a lawyer within the Office of the Attorney General and has since established herself as a successful legal practitioner, operating her own law firm in Samoa. Recently, she returned to the office for a four- week period to assist the Prosecution Division.

In doing so, Ms. Toailoa made significant personal and professional sacrifices, stepping away from the responsibilities of her private practice, to provide assistance to the Office. She accepted the very small budget this Office was able to offer (about $500 for 14 hours), she basically volunteered her valuable time and expertise, working without pay on weekends to give back to the Office that helped develop her legal career.

Toailoa has often acknowledged that the Office of the Attorney General played a fundamental role in equipping her with the legal skills, knowledge, and experience that enabled her professional growth. In recognition of that foundation, and guided by a strong sense of duty to serve, she responded without hesitation when the Office sought her assistance.

During her four-week attachment, Ms. Toailoa worked closely with prosecutors to rebuild and strengthen case management systems, provided practical training and mentoring to prosecutors, and assisted in restoring key practices, systems and precedents within the Division.

Her contribution has fostered a stronger working environment and significantly enhanced morale within the Prosecution Division. The Office of the Attorney General deeply appreciates Ms. Toailoa’s generosity, professionalism, and commitment to her country. Her willingness to return and share her expertise demonstrates a profound sense of duty to the justice system of Samoa.

The Attorney General and the staff of the Office extend their heartfelt appreciation to Ms. Toailoa for her dedication and for the sacrifices she made to assist the Office.
