Vui Iiga Sione outside court after the petition against him was withdrawn.

Apia – Samoa – 14 October 2025 – The election petition filed against the Associate Minister of Police, Vui Iiga Sione, is the second petition to have been withdrawn today.

The petition was filed by unsuccessful Opposition candidate in the August general elections, former MP, Peseta Vaifou Tevagaena of the Faasaleleaga No. 5 constituency.

The counter petition filed by Vui has also been withdrawn. The court has ordered that a notice of the withdrawal of both petitions be published and copy of the publications be presented to court at 12.30pm, Monday 21 October 2025.

In withdrawing his petition, Peseta Vaifou Tevagaena said his decision was made to promote peace and harmony in the village and constituency.
