Apia, Samoa – 04 November 2025 – Samoa’s Prime Minister Laaulialemalietoa Leuatea Polataivao Fosi will be meeting his New Zealand counterpart, Christopher Luxon in Auckland on Thursday this week.
The meeting is on the request of the New Zealand government and will be the first between the two leaders since Laaulialemalietoa was elected and sworn in as Samoa’s Prime Minister on 16 September.
Luxon was one of the very first leaders to send a congratulatory message on Laauli’s election victory in early September.
Laauli arrived in Auckland for medical treatment on 20 September and had since met with the New Zealand Foreign Minister, Winston Peters and Israel’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sharren Miriam Haskel-Harpaz.
The New Zealand Government has also proposed an official visit for Samoa’s Prime Minister as a Guest of the New Zealand Government on a future date.
