Samoan Leaders Invited to American Samoa’s new Fono Building Opening
Apia, Samoa – 18 November 2025 – A high level parliamentary delegation from American Samoa today met with the Prime Minister to officially invite Samoa’s government leaders to the opening of the territory’s new Fono Building later this month.
The delegation is led by the Speaker Savali Talavou Ale, and include Senator, Honourable Olo Uluao Letuli, representatives and officials of the Legislature.
The American Samoa Government is inviting the Head of State, the Speaker of Parliament, the Prime Minister and delegation from Samoa to the official opening on 28 November.
American Samoa’s new Fono House in Fagatogo costs more than US$26.4 million.
The Prime Minister Laaulialemalietoa Leuatea Polatauvao Fosi Schmidt is placing a lot of emphasis on developing the close relationship between the two Samoas through the annual Atoa o Samoa Talks.
The American Samoa Governor and President of the Senate attended led a high level delegation for the first time, to the swearing in Samoa’s new Government on 16 September 2025.
