Court issues Warrant to Arrest two Falealili 1 Witnesses

Apia, SAMOA – 17 December 2025: A warrant of arrest was issued this morning on the two witnesses Malili NofoVaega and Faamotuletia Sei who were summoned to give evidence this morning in the Falealili 1 election petition but failed to appear.
The witnesses already submitted affidavits on behalf of Petitioner Tuiloma Laniselota Lameko against the sitting MP and Deputy Prime Minister, Toelupe Poumulinuku Onesemo (Respondent).
Chief Justice Satiu Simativa Perese said the evidence by these two witnesses will deal effectively with the evidence already before the court by witness Lepagatele Alema.
The execution of the warrant means once the witnesses are caught, they will be held in custody until the matter is called again.
No date has been given when the Falealili 1 election petition will be recalled.
