Capt. Faamausili appointed Samoa Ports Chief Executive Officer
Apia, SAMOA – 28 May 2026 – Cabinet has appointed Capt. Ti’amamana Foetutasi Fa’amausili as Chief Executive Officer of the Samoa Ports Authority for the next three years.
Ti’amamana was Port Master at the authority since 2022, an Assistant Chief Executive officer
position overseeing the Maritime Division of the Authority. He has served in both Samoa and overseas for 40 years.
His resume reflects an extraordinary work history, during which, from 1986 to 1990, he served as Chief Navigation Officer for the Police Patrol boat Nafanua.
From 1990 to 1994, he was a Marine Harbour Pilot – Assistant Harbour Master with the Ministry of Transport, Maritime and Shipping Division, for the government of Samoa.
From 1994 to 1998, he was Senior Captain and Foreign-Going Deck Officer for Samoa at the Samoa Shipping Corporation Limited and the Pacific Forum Line in Apia.
He was Assistant Port Administrator, Marine Operations Supervisor at the Ports of Auckland Limited, Onehunga Wharf, Auckland, New Zealand, from 1998 to 2001.
He holds a Master of Business Administration in Maritime Operations from the University of Plymouth, England, UK, and a Bachelor of Science [Honors] degree in Maritime Operations from the same university.
He also obtained an International Diploma [Harbourmasters], IBC Lloyd’s Academy, London, UK and holds a Marine Pilot [Nautical | Navigation] and a Master Mariner [Nautical | Navigation] from the Royal Australian Navy.
The new General Manager is from the villages of Gagaemalae in Foailuga, Malie, Lepea, and Asau, Savai’i.
