New CEOs for Development Bank & Samoa Shipping Corporation Appointed

Tamaletā Taimang Jensen has been appointed the new CEO of the Development Bank of Samoa and Tau’ili’ili Vaelua Sonny Brown as CEO of the Samoa Shipping Corporation.

Apia, SAMOA – 30 July 2026 – Cabinet has approved the appointment of two new Chief Executive Officers for key government-owned organizations.

Former Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Development Bank, Tamaletā Taimang Jensen has been appointed as the new CEO for three years.

He also served as Chairman of the Government of Samoa’s Fono Fa’avae Project for Vaimauga 2.

He holds a Bachelor of Business Studies, a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Studies, and a Master of Business Studies from Massey University in New Zealand.

He succeeds Muā’autau Raiē Silipa as the CEO of the Development Bank of Samoa.

Tau’ili’ili Vaelua Sonny Brown has been named the new CEO of the Samoa Shipping Corporation (SSC) for a three-year term, taking over from Leiātaua Samuel Phineas.

Tau’ili’ili has many years of working experience with the Samoa Shipping Corporation.

He holds a Bachelor of Vocational Studies (2021) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Development Studies (2023) from the National University of Samoa.
