SUNGO welcomes Australian Volunteer

APIA, SAMOA – 01 AUGUST 2023- An Australian Volunteer, Ms Vanessa McConville has started work with the Samoa Umbrella of Non Governmental Organisations – SUNGO.

McConville’s is looking forward to not only supporting the critical work of SUNGO, but also to learn from local expertise.

McConville’s main area of focus is on Child Protection, ensuring that the right of every child is protected and recognized. And while working with SUNGO for the next four months, Ms McConville will ensure that the SUNGO policies and procedures reflect the importance of Child Protection especially when working with the Civil Society Organizations.

The Australian Volunteers Program is an initiative funded by the Australian Government, and it matches skilled Australians with organizations in the region to support their governments’ priorities, including the Government of Samoa.

SUNGO Chief Executive Officer, Afioga Fuimaono Vaitolo Ofoia believes that the new Team Member will bring with her additional value for the benefit of SUNGO, as well as the Civil Society.
