Notorious dealer among the 14 charged at Malifa drug raid

Apia, Samoa – 08 December 2024: A person described by the police as a notorious drug dealer who had avoided police capture for a long time is now in custody among 14 people charged with the possession of narcotics and utensils in a police raid at Malifa last Friday.

Police Commissioner Auapaau Logoitino Filipo confirmed with Talamua that this person once slipped through the border to travel overseas despite a court order to withhold his travel documents.

Of the 18 people arrested at the police raid last Friday afternoon, four have been released and 14 are charged with the possession of narcotics and utensils.

Police Commissioner Auapaau Logoitino Filipo said that there was no evidence to hold or charge the four people released.

The 14 accused will appear in Court 6 February 2024.
