Former Civil Societies CEO to Head the new Ministry of Revenue
Apia, Samoa – 19 December 2025 – Fuimaono Vaitolo Ofoia has been appointed by Cabinet as the Chief Executive Officer for the new Ministry of Revenue.
Fuimaono has been an advocate for civil societies and led the Samoa Umbrella for Non-Governmental Organisations (SUNGO) as Chief Executive Officer. He also held the position of Civil Society Advisory Governor for the Pacific.
He will lead the new Ministry that will concentrate on revenue collection for the Government, a function that had been under the Ministry of Customs and Revenue.
The FAST government has pursued the establishment of two separate ministries with Customs to focus on strengthening border control as Government commits to the fight against the growing entrance of illicit drugs into the country.
Fuimaono was a candidate in the August general election for the Vaa-o-Fonoti seat under the FAST banner.
