New Controller & Auditor General Sworn In
Apia, SAMOA – 18 August 2026 – After almost 20 years continuous service in various capacities with the Audit Office, Fa’amoetauloa Fa’asavalu Ah Siu Lin was sworn in by the Head of State, Afioga Tuimaleali’ifano Va’aletoa Suālauvī II as Samoa’s new Controller and Auditor General in parliament this morning.
He was appointed under Section 97 [1] [2] of the Constitution of the Independent State of Samoa 1960, on the advise by the Prime Minister La’aulialemalietoa Leuatea Polāta’ivao Fosi Schmidt to the Head of State.
Faamoetauloa has served at the Samoa Audit office for close to 20 years where he held many different capacities and most recently as Director Legal.
He is a graduate of the University of the South Pacific where he obtained a Bachelor of Commerce doubling-majoring in Accounting and Economics [2007-2010] and a Bachelor of Law [2021-2025].
Fa’amoetauloa is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Samoa Institute of Accountants.
The Head of State and Prime Minister congratulated Fa’amoetauloa on his appointment and wished him well in his new role. The term is for six years.
