Apia, SAMOA – 01 May 2026 – As expected, the retail fuel prices for May have been driven up by the ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran.

Petrol increases by 66.3 sene per litre, from $2.85 to $3.51
Diesel increases by 141.3 sene per litre, from $3.09 to $4.50
Kerosene increase by 135.0 sene per litre, from $2.70 to $4.05

The Ministry of Finance says the USA-Iran conflict has impacted crude oil and refined product prices worldwide, primarily due to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and the resulting impact on global crude oil supplies.

Additional fuel cargoes are scheduled for loading in Singapore in early May and June.
