Ministry of Customs Unveils New Logo & partners with Samoa Post

Apia, SAMOA – 06 July 2026 – The Ministry of Customs officially has launched its new corporate logo marking a new chapter for the Ministry which recently separated from the Ministry of Revenue.

The launch ceremony commenced with an opening prayer and sermon by Mauisiisii Alama Mose, who emphasized the logo serves as a visual identity of the organization’s values. He challenged the Ministry to let the new logo inspire them to fulfill the Ministry vision of, “Working together for a secure, economically stable and resilient Samoa”.

The Minister of Customs, Masinalupe Leatuavao Makesi Pisi, commended the new logo’s modern look and urged the Ministry to continue serving Samoa with commitment and dedication.

The Minister highlighted the Ministry’s important role in protecting the country’s borders for legitimate trade and travel, as well as collecting revenue to support the country’s economy.

Furthermore, he urged the Ministry to continue serving the nation faithfully, highlighting its critical dual mandate of safeguarding Samoa’s borders for legitimate trade facilitation and travel while collecting vital revenue to sustain the national economy.

Two CEOs shaking hands

The Chief Executive Officer of Customs, Mulipola Lemalu Maletino Teofilo and the CEO of Samoa Posts, Tavu’i Tanuvasa Mike Lemisio after signing the MoU for the two government agencies to work in partnership to boost national border security.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry, Mulipola Lemalu Maletino Teofilo explained the meaning behind the new design.

The logo features the national emblem at its centre, symbolizing unity with other security agencies like Immigration, Police, and Biosecurity.

Traditional motifs border the crest, reflecting Samoan culture and core values such as respect – Fa’aaloalo and service – Tautua.

The blue colour in the logo represents Samoa’s oceans and skies, emphasizing the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to protect the borders at key points such as the Apia Port, Regional Airport, Fagalii Airport, and the Faleolo International Airport.

The new logo will be used on all of the Ministry’s official communications and is being display outside the Ministry of Customs office at the Apia wharf, Matautu-tai.

After unveiling the new logo, the Ministry signed a MoU with Samoa Post Limited.

The partnership aims to improve communication and security protocols between the two government agencies and boost national border security.
