NEOC Reassures Samoa’s Fuel Supply Remains Secure

Apia, SAMOA – 17 June 2026 – The National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) today reassured the public that Samoa’s fuel supply remains secure, with scheduled shipments continuing as planned.

The country remains under Amber Level Alert and should conditions continue to improve, the Disaster Advisory Committee (DAC) may recommend a return to Green Level for Cabinet consideration and approval.

Current Fuel Status

  • Diesel: approx. 42 days
  • Petrol: approx. 48 days
  • Kerosene/Jet Fuel: approx. 82 days

Scheduled Fuel Tanker Arrivals

  • 4 July 2026
  • 12-15 August 2026
  • 17 – 19 September 2026

NEOC said the Amber Alert remains in effect as a precautionary measure to encourage efficient fuel use and maintain national preparedness. This proactive approach supports the responsible management of fuel reserves while helping to ensure continued supply.

International Situation Update
Global fuel markets remain sensitive to developments in the Middle East. Recent progress in negotiations between the United States and Iran is a positive development. The Government will continue to closely monitor the situation and any potential implications for Samoa.

Samoa’s fuel supply outlook remains secure, with scheduled fuel shipments continuing as planned. The Government will continue to closely monitor international developments and national fuel reserves. Should conditions continue to improve, the Disaster Advisory Committee (DAC) may recommend a return to Green Level for Cabinet consideration and approval.
